Hello all!!! Today was a good day. Drove into Kingwood from my dads and met up with my Grandma and my Grandpa. It was good seeing them, it has been since christmas. They are in town for his family reunion.  I met about 30 people I did not know. My favorite being a 3 year old little girl named Rachel! Blue eyes and strawberry hair, we had our bonding moment when she crawled on the couch and snuggled with me for a little rest time. I was in love from then on. You know me and babies... she kept me entertained for the rest of the day! Now I am being lazy in a nice hotel with my mom. We are totally gonna hit up the fitness room tomm, and are excited about it! lol

I can't get my mind off of Africa. My heart continues to yurn and cry out for the little babies, suffering from hunger, losing parents by the minute from AIDS. I can not believe the statistics... a child dies from hunger every 3 seconds in sub-Saharan Africa. Could you imagine if that happened in America? How real this problem is, yet we mostly tend to "not worry" about it...

I was talking with my Dad during out visit... and he was talking about how he thinks most people are intimidated by the fact that, if they cant help them all why help... or how to choose who to help... I thought about this for a while... I mean it is true, it can get discouraging, the fact that children are dying every 3 seconds... i mean, that is heartbreaking.... agreed.

But this simple fact makes me ask one simple question... isnt saving even just ONE worth all the effort in the world? I think so...

GET INVOLVED, DO SOMETHING, ANYTHING... find a way to help... there are so many ways... even if it is sending a dollar, and feeding a child for just one day... but we have to do something... The time is now... not later, not someday... now...

OK, im babbling...

Lesson of the day: Big Families are fun... I want to be that grandma at the top of the family tree with 60 people celebrating the memories we all had over the years... with the cute 3 year great grandaughter splashing around in the pull and making all the oldies laugh... maybe someday!!!

If you are bored... google project Cannan... its super cool!

Blessings,
Rach
